I'm Staying for a Little Longer...
"Now around every corner
And up every mountain
I'm not looking for crowns
Or the water from fountains
I'm desperate in seeking, frantic believing
That the sight of Your face
Is all that I'm needing"
Worth It by Rita Springer
First off I know I have not posted in quite a while! I am sorry that it has been so long.
There have been some major changes that are taking place. For starters I would like to inform everyone that I have asked to stay another three months in Japan. I will still be considered short term because I am leaving for South Korea for two weeks and the reentry into Japan will renew my tourist visa for another 90 days. It took a bit to get this all set up but I am basically good to go! =D
During this time I will continue helping out at SonRise Cafe. I will be working on advertising for the business, teaching English, waitressing, leading Sunday school, evangelizing, ect... This is the last year before the lease is up for SonRise cafe. We do not know where God is going to take the cafe after this time. I thought about coming home and then trying to raise support to come back but it just seemed to make more sense to just stay while the opportunity is here.
I really felt that my time was not over yet. There was so much going on that I still wanted to be a part of and I feel like God is really growing me during my stay here. I will be back a little before Thanksgiving however so it is not that far away!
I recently arrived back from Karuizawa. We had our TEAM annual conference there and it was a good experience. I got to learn about the business side of missions. Japan requires that a company has to meet for business every year so TEAM Japan gathers together to talk business for two out of the five days. The rest of the time is fellowship and time with other missionaries. It was nice to meet some of the other young missionaries this week.
I recently sent out prayer requests to quite a few people. For privacy reasons I would prefer not to put them on my blog. Please send me an email at courtney.dusenbury@mavs.uta.edu if you would like to see them. Or you can just send me a facebook post. =D
I am raising support for this extended time. I would love for you to be a part of what God is doing in my life while I am in Japan. If you would like to support me please go to this page:
